Thomas Tuchel has recalled Ivan Toney and named an uncapped Chelsea star in his England squad for next month's matches against Andorra and Senegal.

Toney has not been involved in the England setup since last summer's Euros after moving to Saudi Arabia at the start of the season.

It appeared that his international career was over, but Toney has been rewarded for a strong season at Al-Ahli that has seen him score 29 goals in 43 appearances.

He is joined in the squad by Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. The 25-year-old earns his first international call-up after being sent out on loan to Crystal Place at the start of the campaign.

Having impressed at Selhurst Park in the first half of the season, Chalobah was recalled by Chelsea in January and has become a mainstay in the backline since returning under Enzo Maresca.

The Blues are now on the brink of earning Champions League qualification, and Chalobah has played a significant role in their success, leading to Tuchel bringing him into his squad.

Phil Foden has been left out following a difficult season at Manchester City

However, there is no place for Phil Foden after a difficult season for the Manchester City midfielder.

Foden was named the Premier League player of the year 12 months ago as City won their fourth straight title, but has admitted to mental fatigue and struggled with fitness issues this term which has ultimately cost him his place in Tuchel's squad.

Tuchel opted for experience when he named his first England squad in March, and he has followed a similar trend this time around, with Jordan Henderson, Kyle Walker and Dan Burn all retaining their places.

There is still no place for Adam Wharton, despite the midfielder's eye-catching performance in Crystal Palace's FA Cup triumph over City last weekend.

His Palace team-mate Eberechi Eze does make the cut, though, after a strong finish to the season. Another Palace player, Marc Guehi, has been left out after suffering an eye injury in last week's FA Cup final.

Bukayo Saka is back in the squad after missing the matches in March due to a hamstring injury.

However, Harry Maguire has been unable to get back into the fold after Manchester United fell short in the Europa League final against Tottenham on Wednesday.

Marcus Rashford has also not been called up as he is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury that brought his loan spell at Aston Villa to a premature end.

Tuchel has named a 25-man squad for next month's games as England bid to take another step towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

England will face Andorra in a World Cup qualifier on June 7, before hosting Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground three days later.

The second game could see Morgan Gibbs-White earn an England cap at his home ground after the Nottingham Forest midfielder was included in Tuchel's squad.
