Newcastle United are considering moving to a new home and will take inspiration from West Ham United.

The Magpies are plotting the controversial move from St James’ Park, which would see them move to a larger stadium.

Getting the move right is of paramount importance to the North East club as they must appease supporters.

With that in mind, they have delved into the Hammers’ move to the London Stadium as plans get underway.

Newcastle analyse London Stadium atmosphere

Modern day stadiums are often criticised for their atmosphere, with many favouring old-school grounds.

However, moving to a new home is part of football, and in order to progress, change is necessary.

Newcastle are in a different position, given that they are already playing inside a seismic stadium, with an electric atmosphere.

Furthermore, St James’ Park is positioned in the city centre, meaning it is at the core of the community.

Despite these positives, there is talk of the Magpies moving to a new stadium, which will bring financial benefits to the North East club.

PIF, the Newcastle owners, and other decision makers at the club are liaising with an outside company that monitors the atmosphere inside football stadiums, according to the Daily Mail (22 May).

They reportedly want to get the atmosphere right within the stadium and are desperate not to replicate the London Stadium.

West Ham must boost atmosphere with performances

The London Stadium was not created for football, and thus it is understandable why it has not matched West Ham.

However, like any arena, there are ways to make the place as noisy as possible.

Performances have been absent from the Hammers’ home for quite some time, and that has shown no signs of changing.

This season has been a dire one for West Ham supporters, who have had nothing to cheer about as their team languishes in 15th position.

Graham Potter has much work ahead if he is to stop the rot and is entering a pivotal summer as Irons boss.

Somehow, he must reignite a spark that has been missing in East London for some time, with transfers the top priority.
