The Red Devils were edged out 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final held on Wednesday, May 21, at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

The victory marked Tottenham’s first major trophy since 2008, thanks to a decisive goal by Brennan Johnson in the 42nd minute, which was deflected off United defender Luke Shaw following a cross from Pape Matar Sarr.

On the evening of Thursday, May 22, Nimrod, tasked with delivering the sports news during the 7 pm bulletin, visibly showed his distress as he reported on Manchester United’s loss.

It was clear he is a Manchester United fan, especially given the club's rough season that saw them finish a disappointing 17th in the Premier League and now face missing out on European competition next season.

As Nimrod read the news, he covered his face with his hand in apparent shame and even turned his head away from the screen, a moment that left his colleagues in the studio chuckling.

He funnily announced:

"Let me read this news with my neck bent. Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United 1-0 to lift the UEFA Europa League cup.”

"Ku-support Man U ni taabu, uliza Nimrod," Citizen TV wrote.
