Summary
Manchester Untied have not ruled out selling any of their squad ahead of this summer following their Europa League final defeat.
Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo could fetch sizable sums, while Jadon Sancho's future is uncertain.
Marcus Rashford and Antony's performances out on loan may lead to profitable summer sales.
Manchester United have taken the definition of a fire sale to an extreme new level this summer, listing every current player for sale following their Europa League final defeat. The Red Devils fell 1-0 to Premier League rivals Tottenham at Bilbao's San Mames Stadium on Wednesday night, meaning Ruben Amorim's side will miss out on all forms of European competition for the 2025/26 campaign.
This meltdown follows hot on the heels of what can only be described as United’s Premier League annus horribilis: their worst-ever finish is all but sealed, with the club currently languishing in 16th place - and they could still slip to 17th with one game remaining. The stats are damning: fewest wins, most losses, and a points total that hasn’t yet hit the bog-standard 40-point safety mark, with relegation looming uncomfortably realistic throughout the season.

So it’s little wonder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS brass have slammed the reset button with the force of a frustrated Football Manager player. But as they now host what looks more like a charity auction than a transfer window at Old Trafford, the question is: how much could the club actually rake in from a squad-wide clearance? We’ve crunched the numbers with the help of Transfermarkt to find out.
Goalkeepers & Defenders
An ageing defensive unit offers nothing more than loose change
If Ratcliffe and co. are hoping to raise serious funds over the coming months, it’s highly unlikely they’ll be turning to the defensive unit to balance the books. While there’s certainly plenty of deadwood in need of shifting, most of United’s goalkeepers and defenders are well past their best-before dates - and unlikely to bring in more than a bit of pocket change.
Tom Heaton, Jonny Evans, former club captain Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof are all on the wrong side of 30, with none commanding a market value north of £13 million. Meanwhile, Andre Onana and Luke Shaw are creeping towards that dreaded milestone as well. Given Onana’s high-profile mistakes and Shaw’s never-ending battles with injury, it’s not entirely outlandish to suggest United might have to pay a rival just to take one of them off their hands instead, either.
The big bankers in United's backline include summer signings Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt, while Lisandro Martinez is valued just shy of £38 million. But it is perhaps those four, who have regularly formed part of Amorim's back five, who will be called upon to build the foundations of a rebuild going forward, as opposed to making way for fresh faces.

Bruno Fernandes could attract a British transfer record bid of £106m+
If anyone was going to be considered immune from departure this summer, it would no doubt be current skipper Bruno Fernandes. Last season, he created more chances than any other Premier League player, while he has consistently been the inspiration this time around for their run to another major final.
But given that he's now 30 and Saudi Pro League clubs like Al-Hilal are stewing over the idea of breaking the British transfer record to acquire his services - which is currently the £106m Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandez - United could decide to cash in on him while they still can, despite him being among United's highest-ever assists providers.

Bruno Fernandes took advantage of the 2024/25 season to consolidate his place among the 10 best decisive passers in Manchester United's history.
He's not the only player in midfield who could help give the INEOS hierarchy a relished new war chest, though. Kobbie Mainoo has recognised early that he is better off elsewhere if he wishes to become the world-class talent everyone expects him to be, and so his impending sale could rake in upwards of his market value, which currently stands at £46 million.
Christian Eriksen will be leaving ahead of his contract expiry this summer, which will lift a bit of weight off the wage bill, and while Casemiro probably won't be able to produce a big offer by way of a transfer fee, his sale would relieve nearly half-a-million off United's weekly expenditure. Elsewhere, selling Mason Mount for a profit is completely off the cards - his market value is just £23 million, just two years on from the club spending £55 million to prize him away from Chelsea.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho & Antony sales are a matter of inevitability
While Marcus Rashford and Antony’s increased minutes and inflated creative output on loan at Aston Villa and Real Betis in the second half of the season highlight Manchester United’s failure to get the best out of their attacking talents, it could end up paying dividends. Their rising stock - boosted with every goal and assist - may bring in a tidy sum when the summer transfer window opens.
The same can’t be said for Jadon Sancho. What once looked like a sure-fire move to Chelsea now appears to be fizzling out, as recent lacklustre performances may see the Blues choose a £5 million escape clause rather than commit to a permanent deal. That leaves United back at square one and scrambling for a new buyer.

Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund has endured a goal drought that’s gone bone dry—27 Premier League games without finding the net. His tally across all competitions is stuck at a worrying 10 goals in 51 appearances. Fortunately for United, his valuation still hovers just below £40 million.
That's the same value as Alejandro Garnacho. Despite being one of United’s most productive creative sparks, the Argentine was left out in the cold during the Europa League final, playing just 19 minutes. The snub hasn’t gone unnoticed, sparking outrage from both Garnacho and his brother, who also happens to be his agent. With tensions rising, he could be eyeing the exit door - perhaps making the decision of whom to sell this summer that much easier for United’s hierarchy.
