Chelsea and Man United are both showing interest in Swiss goalkeeper. The player is currently impressing in Bundesliga with one of Germany’s biggest club. He will cost a hefty amount this summer.
Chelsea are heavily linked with move to sign a new keeper although they have not given any certain signs. Robert Sanchez has failed to impress once again. Hence, the Blues are said to move-on from him this summer.
On the other hand, Man United keeper Andre Onana has failed to justify ever since joining them. He has not been able to stay consistent between the sticks. As a result, the Red Devils are said to part ways with him this summer.
Chelsea & Man United both keen to sign Swiss keeper
According to BILD, both United and Chelsea are keen to sign Gregor Kobel. He is 27 year old Swiss keeper who plays for Dortmund. He has been with the German giants since 2021 and has established himself as one of the best keepers in Bundesliga.
Kobel is said to move away from Dortmund this summer. The German giants will miss UCL football due to which many of their top players will leave. The report from BILD adds that Kobel will cost around €60-70 million for any English club.
As of now, Chelsea may have lead to land Kobel above United. The Red Devils will miss UCL next season. In addition, they will not even play in either Europa League or Conference League. On the other hand, Chelsea are favourites to qualify for Champions League.
Kobel can be a great addition to any of the above mentioned suitors. He is in prime of his career with plenty of top level experience. This season, Dortmund have struggled with Kobel has continued to showcase his quality. He has registered 11 clean sheets for the German giants.
