Newcastle United drop £63m transfer hint in major announcement - opinion

The Newcastle United players look pretty smart in the new Adidas home kit for the 2025/26 season.

The new Newcastle United home kit has been officially unveiled, with Eddie Howe’s players set to wear it for the first time on Sunday against Everton at St James’ Park.

They will hope that it proves to be lucky, with Newcastle United knowing that a win against the Toffees will result in Champions League qualification.

Newcastle United fans love the new Adidas kit, and there will no doubt be a huge rush to purchase it when it officially goes on sale at 9am on 29th May.

Supporters will be deciding what name they want on the back too, be it ‘Tonali 8’ or ‘Joelinton 7’.

Alexander Isak spotted as Newcastle United stars model new kit

One name that fans might be hesitant to get printed on the back of their new shirt is ‘Isak’.

That is because the 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal interested in Alexander Isak.

However, fans will hope that the players chosen to model the new home shirt is a hint towards who will be staying.

MORE NEWCASTLE STORIES

In the video posted on the club’s social media channels, the first Newcastle United player seen in the new kit is Bruno Guimaraes.

It is not long before Isak appears, which is hopefully a hint that he is remaining on Tyneside.

The promotional footage also includes Anthony Gordon. He is another player that has been linked with a transfer, with claims that Gordon’s Newcastle future is uncertain.

Hopefully he is staying too, as the winger is a pivotal player at St James’ Park.

Alongside Bruno, Isak and Gordon, the likes of Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Harvey Barnes, Sandro Tonali, Lewis Miley and Nick Pope have been pictured in the new kit.

What Newcastle United have told Alexander Isak

Despite interest from elsewhere, Newcastle United plan to keep Isak at St James’ Park.

Newcastle have told Isak they will not sell him this summer, as they prepare to offer the £63million man a new contract.

The Magpies are hoping he will commit his future to the club, with Newcastle willing to make Isak their highest paid player.

The only sticking point could be how much Newcastle are willing to pay Isak. He will be looking to receive wages in excess of £200,000-a-week, which is what he would get elsewhere if he were to change clubs.
