Liverpool could face competition from Real Madrid in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer, Fichajes has claimed.
The Premier League winners have reportedly set their sights on the Spanish international, whom they have been monitoring for several months, and believe Williams can add extra quality to Arne Slot’s frontline.
The 21-year-old’s impressive development in Bilbao has also caught the attention of Real Madrid, who are now ‘seriously considering’ activating his release clause, which reportedly stands at €58m (£48m).
Williams, whose wage demands are £400,000 per week, is believed to be open to a Premier League move this summer, and Fichajes claim the chances of him wearing a Liverpool shirt next season have been 'gaining strength' in recent weeks.
