Dwight Yorke says it's “a shame” Marcus Rashford looks to have no future at Manchester United.
Rashford has spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, having been frozen out at Old Trafford by head coach Ruben Amorim.
Villa have a £40m option to sign him permanently this summer, while he has also been linked with Barcelona.
“Being a United man, I have watched this kid for years at Old Trafford, and now I’m seeing how much he improved at Villa Park compared to his recent efforts at United,” said Yorke, speaking to gamblingindustrynews.com.
“I don’t know why he hasn't been able to produce the same at United, but he’s clearly a fantastic player.
“I’ve advocated for him for a number of years, and I know there are some issues.
“At times, he’s not covered himself in glory, but when it comes down to sheer football ability, he’s a terrific player.
“It’s a shame how things have panned out, that one of the best players, perhaps the best player, doesn’t want to be at the club.”
