Packers News: Matt LaFleur Has Great Words for Davante Adams as He Talks About Botched 2025…

There was clamor for Davante Adams to join the Green Bay Packers after being away from them for at least four seasons now. However, it did not happen as the Lambeau Field favorite signed with the Los Angeles Rams instead for a two-year, $44 million deal.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is aware of the noise surrounding Adams. However, he knew that he was an in demand player and those who vied for his services will regret not getting him.

“I’m sure (Los Angeles Rams head coach) Sean (McVay) and my brother (Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur) would be really upset if Davante (had) come back [to us],” LaFleur said in an interview with Kay Adams.

“I think anytime you have a player of that caliber, there’s definitely conversations that go into it, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t, but Davante is a guy that I got a ton of respect for in terms of just who he is as a player. Certainly, it kind of speaks for itself.”

There’s no denying that Adams had his best year with the Packers although he failed to win a championship.

Even former Packer tight end Brandon Bostick thought he has an unfinished business in Green Bay and that he should have returned to the team for the 2025 season.

Adams is the type of player that any team would want and LaFleur is witness to how the six-time Pro Bowl molded himself into that.

“But it’s not a surprise that he’s become the type of player he’s become, because just how he approaches the game, he is the ultimate competitor, and I feel like he treats practice like it’s game day.”
