Erik ten Hag has reportedly made a decision on his future with the Dutchman 'saying yes' to a two-year deal to a big European club.

Ten Hag was dismissed by Manchester United in October and replaced by Ruben Amorim, who has found life tough with the club struggling down in 16th in the Premier League.

The 55-year old continues to be paid compensation by the club and has been keen to recharge and take his time before leaping straight back into management.

And he is now ready to get back to work with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The influential journalist posted on X: 'understand Erik ten Hag said yes to Bayer Leverkusen project on a two year contract.

'He’s now waiting for club decision as they spoke to several candidates… but ETH gives priority to Bayer 04, with Ajax waiting in the background.'

Leverkusen are on the hunt for a new boss with manager Xabi Alonso set to take charge of Real Madrid.

Alonso guided Leverkusen to the Bundesliga title last season, going undefeated in the process.

Alonso is reportedly on course to be unveiled as the replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who managed him when he played at the Bernabeu, next week.

Ten Hag made a bright start to life at United with the Red Devils finishing third in the Premier League.

His second season was far less impressive but he earned himself a new contract with victory in the FA Cup final over rivals Manchester City.

However, a miserable start to the 2024-25 campaign saw him relieved of his duties.
