An ex-Ipswich Town loanee who crashed his Audi while going nearly 100mph has been given a three year driving ban.
Brandon Williams, who was on loan at the Blues at the time of the crash in August 2023, was handed a 14 month suspended sentence at Chester Crown Court on Friday, May 23.
Williams, 24, was seen driving at high speeds and in an erratic manner on the A34 near Handforth, Cheshire on August, 20 2023.
The former Manchester United full-back's vehicle collided with a Ford Fiesta before crashing into the central reservation seconds after reaching nearly 100mph.
In March, he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and having no insurance.
Manchester United announced that he would leave the club at the end of his contract.
Recorder Eric Lamb also banned him for driving for three years and ordered he must undertake 180 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order.
During his time at Ipswich, the full back went on to make 15 league appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
He returned to Manchester United in January for a 'medical assessment' following a series of repeated illnesses and 'knocks'.
Earlier this week, former Town striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas admitted to bein gpart of a drug smuggling plot.
Emmanuel-Thomas, 34, of Cardwell Road in Gourock, Inverclyde, was arrested by the National Crime Agency at Stansted Airport as 60kg of cannabis arrived in suitcases on September 2 last year.
The court had heard the drugs, worth £600,000, were detected by Border Force on a flight arriving at the north Essex airport from Bangkok, Thailand.
Co-defendants Rowland and Piotrowska, who both denied the charge, face no further action after prosecutors offered no evidence in their case.
Emmanuel-Thomas will be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court at a later date.
