Manchester United’s financial position has gone from bad to worse on the back of the club’s loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
With The Red Devils now set to miss out on £140 million in revenue next for next season, summer sales are going to be even more essential to have any hope of rebuilding Ruben Amorim’s squad.
It’s understood that Amorim has a budget of around £100 million for his summer rebuild, seemingly targeting Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap which will use £92.5 million of this pot.
As such, the club will have to sell some of their stars and unwanted me, with Rasmus Hojlund looking increasingly likely to depart.
Now, Corriere dello Sport has reported that United will “happily cash in between €50 million and €55 million” to part ways with the Denmark international.
This works out at between £42 million and £46 million with the current exchange rate, with The Red Devils set to lose £30 million on his £72 million transfer from Atalanta in 2023.
However, if United can land a deal to sell him for this range, then it’s certainly better than the fears that have been growing of not being able to sell the striker at all.
After a 21-game goal drought, Amorim’s coaching team were not only growing concerned over Hojlund’s ability in the team, but also over the potential of finding suitors who would want to take him on in the summer.
Thankfully, Hojlund’s stock in Italy still appears to be strong after his time with Atalanta in Serie A, seemingly overruling his recent struggles in the Premier League.
Juventus are reportedly one of the teams interested in signing the 22-year-old, seeing him as a cheaper and younger alternative to the likes of Jonathan David and Victor Osimhen in their search for a new striker.
