Nottingham Forest return for player after January offer–Tussle with Arsenal and Fulham

Nottingham Forest have ‘returned to the hunt’ for Botafogo striker Igor Jesus, but face competition from Fulham and Arsenal.

That’s according to GE Globo, who say Nottingham Forest have returned for the striker despite him turning them down in January because he wanted to play in the Club World Cup.

They state that’s not put off Nottingham Forest, but they now need to beat competition from Fulham and Arsenal for him.

Botafogo had wanted to look at their offer in January, worth around €28.5m, but the player’s desire to play in the tournament in America this summer stopped that happening. The situation has now changed.

There are no proposals as yet, but a member of Igor’s entourage was in England in the last few weeks for meetings with Forest, Arsenal and Fulham. They’ve all signalled an interest in him and explored the financial scenario.

Igor is happy at Botafogo but understands that he cannot waste an opportunity to play in the Premier League. The Brazilian side also need to raise funds and selling the 24-year-old can help with that.

All three Premier League clubs want to reinforce their forward line, and things are now moving around the striker ahead of the summer.
