Ethan Nwaneri has shown great promise this season and should the opportunity present itself then some of the biggest clubs in England and in Europe will try to sign him, according to the latest reports.
The winger broke into the first-team this season and owing to Bukayo Saka’s injury absence, he has managed to play in 25 Premier League games for the club. He has put in some top-class performances, making six goal contributions in these 25 appearances.
His contract is set to expire at the end of next season and while Arsenal are planning to hold talks over a new deal, a series of top clubs are keeping tabs on the situation. Bayern, Barcelona, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and even Real Madrid have been linked with the 18-year-old Englishman.
Will Ethan Nwaneri reject a new deal and look to leave?
Arsenal know exactly how valuable Ethan Nwaneri is but right now they have Bukayo Saka playing down the right wing. The youngster can also play as a centre-forward but Mikel Arteta is planning to sign a world-class striker which would push him further down the pecking order.
Ethan is not actively looking to leave but he is also concerned about the amount of game time which he will get next season. This campaign, he has made 10 starts in the league along with seven appearances in the Champions League and based on what we have seen from him, these numbers should get better during the 25/26 season.
Arsenal are not willing to hit the panic button just yet but they will also be aware of the fact that several youngsters have left the academy in recent times to join rival projects.
Over the past year, Chibo Obi, Ayden Heaven and Sekou Kone have all left Arsenal’s academy to join a faltering Manchester United side.
Ethan Nwaneri has shown no signs of discontent just yet but if he devoid of game time the youngster will surely consider his options. And with so many major clubs interested in him, he won’t mind running out his deal and leaving as a free agent. The rumours are suggesting that the winger is not close to agreeing to a new deal but that’s very normal for someone who still has more than a year remaining.
