Sean Longstaff’s time at Newcastle United could soon come to an end.
Longstaff emerged through the Newcastle United academy but could soon bid farewell to his boyhood club.
Indeed, Longstaff could leave Newcastle this summer after falling out of the first-team picture under Eddie Howe.
With Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton generally excellent in central midfield, opportunities have been difficult for the 27-year-old.
He’s started only eight times across all competitions and Howe has admitted Longstaff faces an uncertain future at Newcastle.
According to The Chronicle, a trio of Premier League clubs remain interested.

Manchester United interested in Sean Longstaff
They suggest that Manchester United, Everton and Leeds are all keen to sign the Newcastle United academy graduate.
It’s also added that both Howe and the player must come to a decision on his future soon.

Meanwhile, iNews claimed earlier this week that Longstaff “hasn’t cut a particularly happy figure” at the club this season.
A lack of game time must be frustrating, particularly given how highly he appears to be rated behind the scenes. Indeed, Sandro Tonali said Longstaff is the most “underrated” player he’s ever played with.
That has not helped him break into the first team fold this season, however.
The major PSR boost Newcastle United will get by selling Sean Longstaff
Newcastle sources are confident about their PSR position heading into the summer, though selling Longstaff would provide another boost on top of that.
Having come through the club’s academy, any money received for Longstaff would count as ‘pure profit’.
With only a year left on his contract, it’s hard to imagine Newcastle getting a huge sum of money for the player. Still, every penny they bank would go directly onto the club’s balance sheet as profit.
Given he’s not really playing anyway, selling makes sense. That’s not to suggest Longstaff couldn’t play a role next season but that, on a financial basis, it’s a logical sale to make.
