Man Utd give Alejandro Garnacho transfer thumbs up as Viktor Gyokeres' price tag demanded

Alejandro Garnacho's future at Manchester United is shrouded in speculation, with a staggering £60million price tag suggested as the sum that might prise him away from Old Trafford. Simultaneously, this figure practically matches up with what it would take to sign striker Viktor Gyokeres from Ruben Amorim's old club Sporting CP.

The young Argentine winger has struggled through a tumultuous season, witnessing Manchester United drop to 16th in the Premier League and suffer defeat in the Europa League final at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea and Napoli lodged bids for the winger during the January window, further casting doubt over his long-term allegiance to United, especially following his candid remarks post-final on Wednesday.

Garnacho's meagre 20 minutes on the pitch in Bilbao left him open to criticising Amorim's choice to start Mason Mount ahead of him, while also expressing uncertainty about his trajectory with the club. "Up until the final, I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know," he said.

"The final will influence [my decision], but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards."

Fueling the fire, Alejandro's brother Roberto Garnacho vented his feelings on Instagram, reports the Mirror. He was left incensed by the forward's limited role in the final, suggesting he'd been "thrown under the bus".

"Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe hahahaha."

In the wake of the match, The Telegraph has suggested that the Premier League club may be willing to let Garnacho go for £60m, potentially paving the way for Amorim to join forces once again with Gyokeres at the same price, despite his release clause being a staggering £83.6m. Reports suggest Gyokeres will be available for around £60m this summer, following two strong years in Portugal.

After propelling Sporting CP to another league triumph, the prolific Sweden international has netted an astonishing 53 goals across all competitions this term, bringing his tally to 96 goals in a mere 101 appearances over two seasons in Portugal.

Although the 26-year-old forward has been persistently linked with possible moves to Arsenal and Juventus, amid the whirlwind of rumours about his future, his uncle has hinted he might remain in Portugal.

Speaking with Record regarding whether the marksman would continue his journey in Lisbon, Chris Gyokeres said about his nephew: "Yesterday at dinner, we decided that he has to stay. Yes, we think so. We hope so, because look... we love it, it's incredible, the country, the people and Sporting. And the Lions. We love it!"
