Al Hilal are preparing an £80m offer to Man United to try and persuade them to cash in on Bruno Fernandes, sources have told Football Insider.

The 30-year-old, who has notched 19 goals and 17 assists in 56 appearances this season, was distraught as Tottenham beat the Red Devils to the Europa League title in Bilbao on Wednesday, 21 May.

Despite the playmaker’s excellent form, United have struggled to compete during Ruben Amorim‘s few months in charge, seeing the team slip to 16th in the Premier League table.

Now, heading towards the summer transfer window, Fernandes has been linked with a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League, with teams trying to benefit from the Red Devils’ current financial situation.

Man United want to keep hold of Bruno Fernandes

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been forced to make various cost-cutting decisions at Old Trafford, yet Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United will not be willing to let Fernandes go this summer.

The finances could be difficult to ignore, however, with Al Hilal lining up an eye-watering bid for the club captain ahead of the 2025/26 campaign as the league attempts to rebuild.

Ruben Amorim not ready to part ways with Man United captain

Amorim, who is under immense pressure from Man United fans after failing to lift the Europa League title, has stated several times in press conferences that the player is not up for sale.

Supporters are expecting multiple changes during the summer transfer window, getting rid of the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount.

A mass exodus, especially given the financial situation, would help Amorim rebuild the squad to suit his playing style, but the majority of supporters would be against selling the captain.

Due to only arriving at Old Trafford in November, many expect the current manager to continue despite the pressure, and the summer transfer window could be a chance for salvation already.
