Joining them in the conversation is another name many consider the best guard in the league today—Los Angeles Lakers phenom Luka Doncic. Together, these three are arguably the current faces of the NBA.
While it's tough to definitively say who the best guard is, prospects from the 2025 NBA Draft class were asked to play a game of "start, bench, cut" with the trio, via House of Highlights.
Many picked SGA as the top choice, and surprisingly, none of them believed Luka was better than either SGA or Ant.
At this point, it might be fair to say that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander deserves the title of the league's top guard—having just won MVP and sitting two wins away from the NBA Finals.
Still, it will be fascinating to see which of the three carves out the best career, as we enter a new era of basketball superstars.
