“I fulfilled the dream” – West Ham man sounds like he’s saying goodbye

West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodriguez may have provided another hint he’s set to move this summer, insisting he’s fulfilled his dream at the club.

D Sports have an interview with the West Ham midfielder today in which he discusses life at the London Stadium and his international hopes.

Rodriguez has had a difficult season at West Ham since arriving on a free transfer from Real Betis in the summer transfer window.

He was a regular under Julen Lopetegui but is out of the picture under Graham Potter, with numerous reports hinting that he’ll be moving on this summer.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, in what is likely to be a busy summer for the Hammers, but he admits he’s fulfilled one dream with the club regardless.

“I fulfilled the dream of the Guido who watched the Premier on TV,” he said when asked about his time at the club.

One key factor that could force a move from West Ham is a desire to get back into the Argentina set up.

He has 30 appearances for his country so far and was a part of the squad that won the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

He hasn’t been in the squad since September last year, though, and his last appearance for his country was a 13-minute cameo in the 2-0 win over Peru in June last year.

The West Ham man wants to get back into the picture as soon as possible, admitting that playing for his country is a priority.

“Representing your country is a beautiful thing,” he added.

“I keep everything from the picture with the Cup to day to day with my teammates. I take it calmly; I work to get back to it.”
