Thomas Tuchel overlooks Man Utd quintet with latest England squad, Harry Maguire will be disappointed

Harry Maguire is among those to miss out on a place in England’s squad for the next round of international matches.

At the heart of Manchester United’s defence, Harry Maguire has provided several key moments, although that will be overshadowed by the team’s shortcomings both domestically and in Europe.

The centre-back, who was a regular under former England manager Gareth Southgate, has only played once for his country since March last year, after injury ruled him out of the European Championship. That was when he started in England’s 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League under former interim boss Lee Carsley.

Maguire’s form for United has been impressive, and he wasn’t one of the players at fault for losing the Europa League final to Tottenham, despite starting the game alongside Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw.

The 32-year-old is likely to remain at Old Trafford after proving his worth under Ruben Amorim in recent weeks.

Thomas Tuchel overlooks five Manchester United players

England manager Thomas Tuchel has named their latest England squad for next month’s internationals against Andorra and Senegal.

One of the biggest shocks from the latest England squad is the omission of Maguire.

However, Maguire is not the only member of United’s first team to miss out.

Fellow United stars Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford, who is currently out on loan at Aston Villa, have also been overlooked by Tuchel.

At 32, it will raise questions about Maguire’s future as an England player.

This will come as a major blow to all players mentioned because it suggests they are not part of Tuchel’s plans to prepare for the World Cup.

England will take on Andorra in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday, June 7, before facing Senegal in a friendly on Tuesday.

Former Man Utd player makes England squad

The latest England squad includes one former United academy graduate.

After playing a key role in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph over Man City last weekend, Dean Henderson is among the three goalkeepers selected.

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, James Trafford.

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dan Burn, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, Reece James, Ezri Konsa, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Eberechi Eze, Conor Gallagher, Morgan Gibbs-White, Jordan Henderson, Curtis Jones, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice.

Attackers: Morgan Rogers, Anthony Gordon, Harry Kane, Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins.
