First look at DeMarvion Overshown in No. 0 jersey will give Cowboys fans goosebumps

Given the devastating injury Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals last season—tearing the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee—most didn't expect to see him at voluntary OTAs this week.

But the 24-year-old is clearly taking his recovery seriously and made a surprise appearance as part of the rehab group.

He's not putting a ton of on-field work in yet, but just seeing him out there at all is nothing but a positive sign for America's Team. And it's certainly worth pointing out that not only does Overshown look absolutely awesome wearing the No. 0 he's long coveted, but it also looks as if the former Longhorn has been putting in some extra work on his upper body.

DeMarvion Overshown looks incredible in Cowboys No. 0 jersey

Overshown has always been quite the physical specimen, but he seems to be taking things to an entirely different level.

As for the jersey number, for those unaware, the No. 0 means a lot to him, as he was the first ever to wear it at Texas and is now the first ever to wear it with the Cowboys.

The Tyler native was given No. 35 as a rookie in 2023 but saw his first pro campaign end abruptly as he tore his ACL during the preseason. He returned last year wearing No. 13, which new wide receiver George Pickens has been wearing during OTAs. And now, he finally gets to don the number he always wanted, which he doesn't take lightly.

"It's not too many people that get to say they're the first to do anything," Overshown said recently, "and to say I'm the first to wear No. 0 at Texas and the first to do it in Dallas Cowboys' history, that's a badge of honor."

The question now becomes when we'll see Overshown in his new number in an actual football game.

Prior to his injury, Overshown was having a strong season, especially for someone coming off an ACL injury, recording 90 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, four passes defended, and a forced fumble in 13 games.

But after he went down against the Bengals on December 9, the severity of his injury had most believing that he'd miss the entire 2025 season.

And while that remains a possibility, Overshown doesn't see things playing out that way. In fact, not only does he plan to return, but he expects to take enough snaps to win Comeback Player of the Year.

"The future's looking good, let me tell you that," Overshown said last month during an appearance on Good Morning Football. "Just how I came off of last year, I'm 100% positive. I have my sights set high. Not only do I want to be nominated for the Comeback Player of the Year, but I'm going to be the Comeback Player of the Year.

"I'm that confident, I feel, with how I'm just going to step back on the field, and you're not gonna see no drop-off."

Cowboys fans shouldn't get their collective hopes up, but we could see No. 0 flying around the field a lot sooner than anyone could have expected.
