From Cagey to Clinical: Bayern Overpower PSG

Both teams came into the semi-final with everything to play for, and while the opening minutes were cagey, Bayern Munich took control just before halftime and never looked back. With a commanding 5–0 win over Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern became the first team to reach the [World Sevens Tournament](https://womenfootball.blog/world-sevens-tournament-information-teams-and-where-to-watch/) final. PSG will now compete for third place, while the second semi-final sees Manchester United face off against Manchester City.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain were evenly matched in the first four minutes of the game. There were no significant chances or shots on goal. PSG came closest with an effort from Mbock but her effort goes over the cross bar.

Bayern Munich controlled most of the first half, playing some nice combinations but unable to break the deadlock yet. Simon missed a huge opportunity, and Tanikawa’s effort was saved by the PSG goalkeeper.

Eventually, it was Damnjanović who opened the scoring with a looping header into the top corner from the edge of the box. Bayern added a second before the break. Damnjanović delivered a perfectly measured pass to the far post, where Plattner tapped it in.

Paris Saint-Germain were unable to regain momentum or pull a goal back. In the 21st minute, Tanikawa scored Bayern’s third goal, nutmegging her marker and slotting the ball into the top corner.

Karchaoui was PSG’s most lively presence, but the team couldn’t prevent Bayern from adding another goal, this time through Zadrazil. Alexander Straus’ side even scored a fifth, it wasn’t their best goal but it showed how much fun the team is having in Estoril.

Bayern Munich are through to the World Sevens Tournament final. Their opponent will be determined in the second semi-final between Manchester City and Manchester United. PSG will face the loser of that match in the third-place playoff.
