Will Sweet was amongst the academy players who trained with the Arsenal first-team this week ahead of the final game of the season away to Southampton on Sunday.
With William Saliba and Jurrien Timber both ruled out there could be a space on the bench for an academy player.
Interestingly Jack Henry-Francis, who is normally a midfielder, trained at right-back.
Defender Maldini Kacurri was also involved along with forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji.
