Liam Delap is quickly becoming Manchester United’s number one striker target this summer.
Half of the strikers in Europe have been linked with strengthening Ruben Amorim’s forward line this summer as a result of Rasmus Hojlund struggling.
The Dane has been difficult to watch at times this season, battling hopelessly against defenders and squandering opportunities that do fall his way. Hojlund was slammed for his performance against Chelsea as he did nothing right and almost made it feel like United were playing with 10 men.
Manchester United have suffered as a result, with goal scoring being the biggest problem, which has resulted in the Red Devils sinking to 16th in the league table and a worst ever Premier League season.
After the season he has gone through, Hojlund is now looking for a way out of United, which will clear the way for additions, such as Liam Delap.

Kieran McKenna speaks out on Liam Delap’s future amid Manchester United links
There is a growing race to sign Delap, with Newcastle and Chelsea both known admirers, along with Ineos. However, it is believed that United are the favourites to sign Delap this summer.
Delap has been wanted by United for months, and with Ipswich getting relegated, this interest grew with the £30m release clause looking like an excellent deal.

Now, with just one game remaining in the season, interest will soon be heating up, and Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has now broken his silence over the exit of his striker, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“Liam is looking at his options for next year, which he’s entitled to do, and we support him with that.
“We’ve given him permission to do that this week, it is a very important decision for his future. There’s a lot of interest, and rightly so.
“Part of his week has been having some of those conversations, and it looks more likely than not that he’ll move on this summer, and he has interest from pretty much every club in the league.”
With McKenna confirming Delap is in talks and considering his options for the next step in his career, we can expect a decision to arrive fairly fast following Sunday’s season conclusion.
Delap is Ineos’ choice of a striker signing, while Amorim prefers Viktor Gyokeres due to their relationship from Sporting CP.
However, if Delap is the one chosen to arrive, Amorim won’t be gutted as he will find a player with potential abilities to make him ideal for United.
Delap is fast, strong, and has a lethal finish on him, which are three things Hojlund does not have right now, and are also qualities that are needed to play in the manner Amorim asks of his number nines.
