It was when Brandon Williams asked for help that he realised how much others had taken advantage of him.
Once earmarked as Luke Shaw’s successor at Manchester United, he was unemployed with a dangerous-driving offence hanging over him. Yet still the hangers-on and so-called friends encouraged him to get back playing even though he struggled to get out of bed, such was his mental state after being released from his boyhood club.
