Everton have confirmed that Academy Director Gareth Prosser is set to leave the club next month to pursue other opportunities.

Prosser joined in summer 2022, after roles at Professional Game Academy Audit company and before that Derby and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Upon arrival at Everton, Prosser was reunited with now former Director of Football Kevin Thelwell.

Thelwell was recently confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the season. Prosser’s role was to oversee all aspects of the Everton Academy.

Everton wished Prosser well for the future and confirmed that the search for a new Academy Director is underway.

A club statement read: "Everton can confirm Academy Director Gareth Prosser will be leaving the Club next month to pursue a new opportunity overseas.

"Prosser joined Everton in the summer of 2022 to oversee all aspects of the Blues’ youth sides, having previously worked as General Manager of the Professional Game Academy Audit Company and, before that, spending six years as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Academy Manager.

"The recruitment process to appoint a new Academy Director as part of the new football leadership structure is under way and an update will be provided in due course.

"Everyone at Everton thanks Gareth and wishes him all the best for the future."
