Liverpool's pursuit of Florian Wirtz is starting to cause uneasiness at Bayern Munich, according to German media.

The Reds have barged into the race to sign the Bayer Leverkusen superstar, and they are willing to go big. Wirtz and his parents recently flew to England for talks with Liverpool officials, and what they were told certainly left an impression.

This hasn't gone unnoticed at Bayern, who have been chasing Wirtz all season. In fact, the Munich side's interest in the 22-year-old dates back all the way to 2020.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Liverpool's interest in Wirtz had left Bayern 'fearing the worst,' which has now been confirmed by reports from Germany. BILD suggests that the Bundesliga champions are starting to panic ever so slightly.

Honorary president Uli Hoeness, who has an excellent relationship with Wirtz's father, is 'now doing everything in his power' to convince the Germany international and his family to snub Liverpool.

Wirtz family impressed by Liverpool

Bayern still believe that they are leading the race for Wirtz, but there is a growing acknowledgement that Liverpool are serious contenders to sign him. They know that he has been left hugely impressed by his talks with the Anfield club.

Liverpool have told Wirtz that they are willing to do and pay whatever it takes to bring him to Merseyside this summer. They are ready to make him the heartbeat of Arne Slot's side, and they don't care if they have to shell out €100 million to land him or €150m.

Bayern insider Christian Falk has revealed that the Wirtz family is being very 'open' with the player's suitors, informing them of every step the other interested party takes.

"The family is playing this transfer game quite openly; they’re telling Bayern what they’re doing with Liverpool, and they’re telling Liverpool what they’re doing with Bayern Munich," Falk told CaughtOffside.

Bayern, it is claimed, now believe that they need to be 'fast' and get this deal over line as soon as possible before the pull of Liverpool becomes too great to resist.
