EXCLUSIVE–Danny Murphy Compares Whether Arsenal Should Sign Nico Williams Or Jarrod Bowen

Arsenal are looking to sign a winger in the summer transfer window as they aim to add more attacking talent to their squad.

Mikel Arteta has seen injuries to some key attacking players this season such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz. With that in mind, the Gunners are desperate for more depth and quality at the top end of the pitch.

One winger that they have been very strongly linked to is Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, who has a £48m release clause. He’s also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea too. The Spaniard has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists this season.

However, many have also touted Arsenal to go after Premier League star Jarrod Bowen, who has gone under the radar at West Ham this season. The England international has scored 13 goals for the Hammers this season, with seven assists.

Bowen is expected to be worth around £38m, and would likely demand cheaper wages than Williams, who reportedly wants over £200k per week.

Murphy says Bowen would be an “amazing” signing

As the Gunners have been linked to both Williams and Bowen, GoonerNews exclusively via talkSPORT BET asked former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy which of the pair Arsenal should sign.

Murphy said: “I think both names would be brilliant additions because we’ve seen the talent that Williams has got. He would need adaptation time for the Premier League, but we’ve seen him play for Spain and in La Liga, and really shows off his talents.

“Arsenal need more firepower and competition in that area of the pitch. However, if I was an Arsenal fan at the start of the season and saw Jarrod Bowen in an Arsenal shirt, I’d be more than happy because he is an amazing player who I don’t think gets the recognition he deserves.”

Bowen could join at the Emirates and link up with Declan Rice, one of his best friends who played with him during Rice’s time at West Ham before he moved to Arsenal.
