Chelsea travel to face Nottingham Forest on Sunday with Champions League qualification on the line.
The Blues had sat second in the Premier League table at Christmas but a poor run of form since the turn of the year has seen Enzo Maresca’s side fall to fifth in the top flight standings.
They are therefore not yet certain of qualification for next season’s Champions League and must beat Forest to ensure they do qualify.
While a draw may be enough depending on results elsewhere, defeat at The City Ground will see the West London outfit miss out on Europe’s top club competition next term.
In the meantime, however, it appears that Chelsea are interested in a talented youngster from one of their fiercest rivals.
According to TBR Football, Chelsea are one of a number of top European sides keeping tabs on Arsenal star Ethan Nwaneri’s situation.
The teenager signed a three-and-a-half-year-deal last year, but the club had hoped that he would agree a long-term contract when he turned 18 earlier this year.

Nwaneri is yet to do so, though, and the report even suggests that the winger may be some way from putting committing his long-term future to the Gunners.
That has alerted clubs across Europe, including Manchester City and Liverpool, as well as Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Barcelona.
Nwaneri is a product of Arsenal’s impressive youth system and has now played 38 times for the club at senior level since breaking into the first team.
In that time he has scored nine goals, as well as registering two assists.
This season the attacker has scored a number of important goals, including a winner against Girona in the Champions League and an equaliser against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
