Manchester United and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has named the four faces who would be on his Mount Rushmore-themed version of the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes has been a mainstay and key influence in the Manchester United first-team squad since his arrival at Old Trafford from Sporting CP in January 2020.
The 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder was snapped up by United for an initial fee of £47m when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in the Old Trafford dugout as Red Devils boss.
Fernandes is considered United’s best signing in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson at the Premier League club and has continued to outperform his teammates each season.
The Portugal international ascended to the United captaincy in 2023 after former Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag stripped Harry Maguire of the club’s armband.
Fernandes inked a new contract with United until 2027 last summer and has continued to impress under Ruben Amorim amid a turbulent 2024-25 season.
The United captain has currently netted 19 times and registered 19 assists in 56 matches across all competitions in the current campaign at Old Trafford.

But Fernandes’ long-term future at United has remained uncertain in recent months amid interest from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal ahead of the summer window opening.

Bruno Fernandes picks his star-studded ‘Mount Rushmore of Man Utd’ and singles out four Red Devils legends
Speaking to TNT Sports, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes was tasked with building his Mount Rushmore with figures from the Red Devils’ rich legacy.
Fernandes kicked off his Mount Rushmore with none other than Sir Bobby Charlton, who is widely considered one of the best players in United’s longstanding history.
The Portugal star followed up pick of Sir Bobby Charlton with legendary former United captain Bryan Robson, who remains the longest-serving Red Devils skipper.
Fernandes, unsurprisingly, made sure that a place on his Mount Rushmore was reserved for legendary former Aberdeen and United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The United ace paused on his final pick before he decided to select Wayne Rooney to put alongside Ferguson, Charlton and Bryan Robson on his Mount Rushmore.
When constructing his United-themed Mount Rushmore, Fernandes said: “Bobby Charlton. Bryan Robson. Sir Alex.”
The Portugal international added: “The fourth one… I don’t know. I would go for the younger generation; I would go for Wayne Rooney.”

“It’s in the future, I’m not going to talk about the future,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“This loss, the pain of losing this match. I can see it was clear, we were the better team, but then we managed not to score again, so it’s very hard to win football matches, but the guys tried everything to win the game.
“In the future, we will have time to assess everything.”
United will return to Premier League action for the final time in their abysmal campaign on Sunday evening, with the Red Devils facing Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
