How Jack Rudoni's wages could rise if he left Coventry City for Newcastle United this summer

Coventry City midfielder Jack Rudoni has emerged as a potential target for Newcastle United, according to The Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old has certainly put in some impressive performances in the Championship since his £5m move from Huddersfield Town in 2024.

If Rudoni were to make a move to the North East - he could see his earnings increase quite a lot - so using estimated figures from Capology,FLW examine how they could possibly change.

Rudoni made the move to the CBS Arena from then-relegated Huddersfield Town in June 2024 - with the Sky Blues roughly paying £5m for his services - he signed a four-year deal that runs until 2028.

According to Capology estimates, Rudoni currently earns £12,500 per week at Coventry City - equating to an annual salary of £650,000.

This wage reflects his reputation as one of the club's key players, with Capology placing him joint sixth for earnings at the club - he joined to fill a void that was left by Callum O'Hare's departure - then-manager Mark Robins praised his technicality when he arrived.

Newcastle United's wage structure

Newcastle United operates with one of the more substantial wage bills in the Premier League - to nobody's surprise, with their estimated total gross salaries for the 2024/2025 season reaching approximately £95,175,600 - equivalent to £1,830,300 per week across the whole squad.

Being this comfortable financially does mean they have a good advantage to offer attractive packages to potential targets like Rudoni.

The highest paid player at St. James' Park is Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes - who earns an estimated £160,000 per week.

While Rudoni would obviously be unlikely to command wages of that amount - examining the salaries of similarplayers in the Magpie's squad could provide insight into what he might expect.

Based on Newcastle's current estimated wage distribution - a player of Rudoni's profile could realistically expect to earn between £25,000 and £40,000 per week if he were to join - an attractive increase from his current estimated salary of £12,500 a week at Coventry.

Moving from the West Midlands would no doubt represent more than just a step up in competition, it would change his potential earnings for the better. Using the estimate of £30,000 per week at Newcastle, the midfielder would see his weekly wages increase by £17,500 - a 140% rise from what he's currently on.

This increase translates to an additional £910,000 per year in gross earnings - assuming he signed a similar contract length (four years).

The timing of any potential move however, will be vital for both teams. With Rudoni under contract for another three years, Newcastle would likely need to pay a substantial fee, as well as offering very lucrative personal terms - but that would surely not be a problem for the Geordies.
