Yet neither player will come cheap and Barca still have a few financial issues to contend with, meaning the Catalans may have to look elsewhere.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are now looking at Monaco where they have been impressed by wingers Eliesse Ben Seghir and Magnes Akliouche.
The duo are significantly younger than Rashford and Diaz. Ben Seghir is just 20 years old, while Akliouche is only 23 - both players will also be far more affordable.
Ben Seghir has impressed in Ligue 1 with six goals and three assists this season and has previously spoken of his fondness for Barcelona and Neymar in particular.
“I grew up watching Barça. Their style of play has always fascinated me,” he told reporters.
Ben Seghir has also tipped Akliouche to star in la Liga. He told L’Equipe: “I don’t know if he’s more of a Real Madrid or Barça fan, but I hope to see him at one of these big clubs.”
