Sekou Kone receives international call up for prestigious youth tournament, Man Utd youngster gets boost

With 13 appearances for Manchester United’s U21s to his name, Sekou Kone has received a call-up to play in a prestigious international tournament for players under the age of 20.

Ruben Amorim has given opportunities to several youngsters since becoming Manchester United’s head coach.

The three United academy players to make their debuts under Amorim include Chido Obi, Tyler Fredricson and Harry Amass.

That list could grow this weekend when United take on Aston Villa in the final Premier League game of the season with nothing to play for. It could allow Amorim to give more debuts to more prospects.

One player in contention for a debut soon is Sekou Kone. The defensive midfielder joined the club last summer and has featured on the bench in three Premier League games under Amorim.

Whether that will lead to a debut against Aston Villa on Sunday remains to be seen.
