Fernandes – the club captain and standout performer, is among the few assets capable of commanding a significant fee.
But the outlook at Old Trafford has since changed.
Bayern Munich and PSG among 10 clubs interested in Bruno Fernandes
According to The Independent’s report, Fernandes is now wanted by 10 clubs, including Bayern and PSG, with the Bundesliga side viewing him as a credible alternative to Florian Wirtz.
PSG were reportedly close to a deal last summer, according to The Independent.
Their continued pursuit was one of the factors that led United to hand Fernandes a new contract through 2027, last August.
Wirtz remains Bayern’s priority.
However with Bayer Leverkusen dramatically upping their demands – and Liverpool leading the race, Fernandes has emerged as a serious target.
The Portugal international also has a lucrative offer on the table from Al Hilal, along with a 72 hour ultimatum.

Fernandes, who scored 19 goals and provided 17 assists this season, hinted at a potential exit after the Europa League final.
“I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go,” he said.
“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is.
“Football sometimes is like this.”
United’s failure to qualify for Europe and their urgent need to fund Amorim’s rebuild has now placed their captain at the centre of one of the summer’s biggest transfer stories.
How the Red Devils would look without the ‘Portuguese Magnifico’ next season, remains a daunting sight.
