Shedeur Sanders Reveals If He Has Talked to Tom Brady Ever Since NFL Draft Slide

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, one of the most talked-about rookies in the NFL, continues to address his surprising slide to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Sanders revealed that he has not spoken to Tom Brady since falling far in this year’s draft.

The Colorado standout had an exceptional college career, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns in his final season. However, questions about his arm strength and pre-draft interviews contributed to his slide.

After the draft, Brady, one of Sanders’ idols, sent him a message encouraging him to embrace his opportunity, regardless of draft position. However, Sanders recently revealed that he has not spoken to Brady since the draft, as his attention has been solely on preparing for the NFL.

Sanders explained that his current priority is building relationships with his teammates and adapting to the Browns’ system. He has taken a disciplined approach to his transition, limiting outside distractions and focusing on the present. This mindset has been evident in rookie minicamp, where Sanders has worked to establish himself in a crowded quarterback room.

Just recently, Sanders said he has not spoken to Brady since sliding far down in the NFL Draft. This can be seen in an article by DJ Siddiqi for Sports Casting.

“I haven’t talked to him since the draft,” says Sanders. “I’ve mainly just been focusing on the team, everybody that’s currently around me, the coaches on the team. I haven’t really been on my phone much or talking to many people. I really don’t even talk to my family. It’s one of those situations where I just have to lock in, stay focused on what’s present now.”

The Browns’ quarterback depth chart includes veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, as well as fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, drafted two rounds earlier. Sanders acknowledges the challenges ahead but remains optimistic about his ability to prove himself. Brady’s journey from sixth-round pick to NFL legend serves as a motivating example for Sanders.

Sanders’ determination to succeed highlights his resilience and commitment. The young quarterback is focused on earning his place in the NFL, with Brady’s words serving as a reminder that success is determined by effort, not draft status. His journey is just beginning, but Sanders is already making his mark.
