Sky Germany has revealed the amount Rodrygo wants to be paid if he leaves Real Madrid this season.
The Brazilian’s future at Real Madrid have become uncertain after what has been a poor personal season at the club.
Rodrygois undoubtedly a talented player, but at Madrid he finds himself in the shadows of Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Belingham.
This has fueled reports that he is unsatisfied and will seek a move elsewhere this summer.
Spanish publication Marca recently claimed that he wants to leave Madrid and “doesn’t want to play for the club again.”
Liverpool are one of the clubs said to be prepared to act if the situation opens up and Rodrygo seeks to move.
The Reds have admired the Brazilian since his Santos days.
With Arne Slot looking to build on his remarkable Premier League-winning debut season, strengthening the attack appears to be a priority for the summer transfer window.
What makes Rodrygo particularly appealing to Liverpool’s recruitment team is his remarkable versatility across the forward positions.
They may finally have their opportunity to land a player they’ve tracked for some time now.
However, the Brazilian’s wage demands may stand in the way of a potential move.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Rodrygo is reportedly demanding around €10 million net salary per year. That places his weekly wage demands at around £293k per week, a figure that only current Liverpool’s top earners command.
According to data from Capology, the Brazilian currently earns around £202,717 ($261,975) on a weekly basis at Real Madrid. But his annual salary scale a little over £10 million ($13m), meaning that his wage demands are within what he gets per year.
If the latest report about Rodrygo’s wage demands is accurate, it goes without saying that Liverpool will be unwilling to match such a weekly salary.
Meanwhile, according to Plettenberg, Arsenal are the club currently trying to sign Rodrygo, but his wage demands are threatening to scupper the deal.
🚨🛑 A move involving #Rodrygo and Arsenal is proving to be very complicated.
There have been new talks in recent hours. The biggest issue is his wage demands, reportedly around €10 million net per year. Arsenal are not prepared to go that far.
