Less than two days after suffering maybe the worst, and most heartbreaking loss in franchise history, and less than an hour away from maybe the most important game of the season, the Knicks, and their fans got some good news. Point guard, and captain, Jalen Brunson was named to the All-NBA Second Teamwhere he is joined by Steph Curry, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, and Evan Mobley. Brunson, who finished the regular season averaging 26PPG, and 7.3APG, now has two All-NBA Second Team selections in the last two seasons. But that’s not all.
Karl-Anthony Towns, who finished the season averaging 24.4PPG, and a career-high 12.8RPG, was selected to the All-NBA Third Team, where he joins Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, and Jalen Williams. This is Towns’ third All-NBA Third Team selection, with the first two coming in 2018, and 2022.
The pair, who became the first Knicks teammates to start an All-Star game together since 1975, now becomes the first Knicks duo to make an All-NBA team in the same year since Walt Frazier, and Willis Reed did so in 1971.
