NBA Makes Major Karl-Anthony Towns Announcement During Playoffs

New York Knicks superstar Karl-Anthony Towns has been essential to the team's run this season.

The former Minnesota Timberwolves superstar has acclimated well in the Big Apple, complementing superstar guard Jalen Brunson well.

In the regular season, Towns averaged 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest while helping the Knicks to a 51-31 record.

New York entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, and they are currently taking on the No. 4-seeded Indiana Pacers for a chance at an NBA Finals appearance.

In the playoffs, Towns is averaging 20.9 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while converting on 36.5% of his 3-pointers and 49.5% of shots from the field.

His play led to an All-Star appearance mid-season, and the NBA announced another honor for the 7-footer on Friday.

Alongside his teammate, Brunson, Towns has been selected for the All-NBA teams.

Towns made the All-NBA third team, though making the list in general is a testament to his accomplishments and play this season.

The Knicks center joins Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden and Jalen Williams on the third team.

Towns and Brunson, after receiving the award, are aiming to lift the Knicks to a Game 2 win over the Pacers -- who feature Haliburton -- to even out the series 1-1 before heading to Indianapolis.

New York suffered a brutal Game 1 loss, losing a hefty fourth-quarter lead with Haliburton forcing overtime with a last-second shot.
