The Oklahoma City Thunder went up two games to zero on the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 118-103 home win on Thursday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, a game that saw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander lead OKC in scoring with 38 points.
Gilgeous-Alexander, who previously won the NBA's regular season MVP award, has been singled out by NBA fans in recent months for his reputation as a "flopper" or "free throw merchant" because of his ability to draw fouls from opposing defenders.
On Friday, former number two NBA draft pick Jay Williams took to X to share his thoughts about Gilgeous-Alexander's detractors in a passionate video post.

"So I just want to make sure I have this accurately, because being correct is important, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a free throw merchant because he gets fouled in the playoffs while averaging nearly 30 damn points a night? Got it," Williams said.
The former Duke star continued.
"Let's actually check the receipts though...125 free throw attempts in 13 games. Wild. Mind-boggling, right?
"Unless you're, I don't know, LeBron in 2009, 188, MJ in '89, 190," Williams continued, listing what recent NBA legends have done at the free throw line.
"Cool, so let's just retroactively label MJ as a free throw finesser, or LeBron as a contract connoisseur, how about D-Wade as the original Miami merchant?"
Williams added that he feels SGA is 'unguardable,' telling fans and others to "stop crying" and "play defense" as he wrapped up his spiel, which was viewed tens of thousands of times on Friday night alone.
