MANCHESTER City have reportedly made former Saints defender Tino Livramento their number one transfer target this summer.

Livramento, 22, was a key man as Newcastle United ended a 70-year wait for a domestic trophy when they won the Carabao Cup this season.

The Chelsea academy product signed for Saints for just £5million in 2021, before moving to the Magpies in a £40million deal two years later.

And two years later down the line, Livramento, a full England international, could be involved in another money-spinning transfer.

Expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Man City have made Livramento their top target to replace 34 year old Kyle Walker at right-back.

City boss Pep Guardiola has said Walker, who had been on loan at AC Milan since January, will not be part of his plans for the Club World Cup.

The FA Cup finalists will look for a permanent replacement and could turn to Livramento, who would likely command a princely transfer fee.

It was not reported whether Saints negotiated a sell-on clause in the deal to sell Livramento to Newcastle but it is common practice.

If they did, it would mean Championship Saints stand to gain millions from any potential transfer Livramento makes later this summer.

Livramento will first represent England's under-21s as they look to defend their European Championship crown in Slovakia next month.
