It's an exciting few weeks and months for Leeds United as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
After winning the Championship title just a matter of weeks ago, the Whites will be watching the final week of Premier League action this weekend knowing they will be part of it in just a couple of months.
Preparation involves what is expected to be a busy summer transfer window, which could include comings and goings. Manager Daniel Farke is expected to be backed financially in the summer - as he looks to build his squad ready for an assault on the Premier League.
It's no surprise then that Leeds continue to be linked with potential incomings and outgoings. With that in mind, we've taken a look at a couple of the stories doing the rounds over the last 24 hours;
Leeds in £30m transfer battle
Leeds are set to battle Crystal Palace for Southampton midfielder Mateus Fernandes. That's according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
It's claimed that the Whites have entered the race for the the 20-year-old. He joined Southampton from Sporting CP in the summer and has impressed in his debut season in the Premier League, despite the Saints' struggles.
Fernandes is named as a number one priority for Leeds this summer, with them reportedly ready to push close to the £30million asking price put on his signature by Southampton.
LeedsLive says: Signing a younger player who has already proven himself in the Premier League seems a smart move by Leeds as they look to strengthen their squad. But that will obviously come at a price - as £30million is a big fee - especially as Leeds will also want to add to their squad elsewhere to compete.
Leeds reunion chance outlined
Reports over in Germany, from the print edition of Rheinische Post on Friday, claimed that Farke is looking to lure Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Julian Weigl to Elland Road in the summer.
The 29-year-old has previously worked with the Leeds boss during the manager's time with the German team. The two could possibly be reunited this summer.
The 29-year-old was also linked with a move to Leeds back in April, and the talk is now continuing. Weigl will have three years remaining on his contract when the summer window opens.
LeedsLive says: Leeds' hopes of signing the player may have been boosted with reports already circulating that Monchengladhbach have already identified a replacement for Weigl. Farke's relationship with the player could work in Leeds' favour should any transfer race emerge. That will also help any possible settling in period that the player will need if a deal is completed.
