FPL injury update: Isak, Guehi, Pedro, Murillo, Branthwaite latest for GW38

It's the final weekend of Premier League fixtures which means FPL managers have one last chance to win some crucial points. A strong finish could be the difference between finishing top of your league and coming second to a rival with a few more points than you. It could also be pivotal in avoiding a last-placed finish and steering clear of a humiliating forfeit.

Every team in the league will be in action this weekend, with all fixtures set to kick off at the same time on Sunday afternoon. The standout game will see Chelsea take on Nottingham Forest as the race for Champions League qualification reaches its climax. Others, including the likes of Brighton and Brentford, still have an outside chance of securing European football.

Express Sport provides a helping hand for FPL bosses with a list of players who might not be available for Gameweek 38...

Alexander Isak

Newcastle's attacking talisman is a doubt to play against Everton as he continues to recover from a groin injury. It caused him to miss the defeat to Arsenal last weekend and is yet to train with his team-mates ahead of facing the Toffees.

Eddie Howe delivered a worrying update in Friday's press conference, saying: "He hasn't trained with us yet, but he's made good progress throughout the week. The next couple of days will be absolutely crucial to his availability on Sunday. There's a chance."

Murillo

Nottingham Forest defender Murillo picked up a knock against West Ham last weekend but managed to last the whole game. After the final whistle, Nuno Espirito Santo expressed hope that he would be available to face Chelsea on the final day.

However, the Forest boss revealed on Friday that Murillo had not been fit enough to train during the week. He explained: "[Murillo] twisted his ankle and has not been able to train. We will see tomorrow."

Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi injured his eye in last weekend's FA Cup final, which forced him to miss the post-match celebrations at Wembley. He was absent from the midweek victory over Wolves and has been left out of the England squad in order to aid his recovery.

It remains to be seen if the defender will be fit enough to face Liverpool on Sunday. Oliver Glasner might decide to leave him out of the squad, given that Palace have nothing left to play for, but Guehi could be included if he is deemed ready to play.

Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro was technically available to play in Brighton's last fixture following the completion of his three-match ban. However, he did not feature in the matchday squad on Monday night due to 'personal reasons'.

It later transpired that he had allegedly been involved in a training ground bust-up with Jan Paul van Hecke. Fabian Hurzeler said on Friday that while the matter has been dealt with internally, Pedro will not play for the Seagulls against Tottenham this weekend.

Jarrad Branthwaite

Jarrad Branthwaite limped off for Everton in their Goodison Park farewell and will not be involved against Newcastle on the final day. David Moyes confirmed the news on Friday, saying that Branthwaite would be sidelined for a while.

"I can tell you that he's injured and won't be available," revealed the Scot. "Probably four or five weeks. It's his hamstring so there's not much we can do about it. It's a big loss to us, but we have to live with it."
