Jobe Bellingham says he has a burning ambition to reach the Premier League with [Sunderland](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/sunderland).
Whether that means he would be happy to stay should that happen remains to be seen as he is being pursued by clubs across Europe. But for now, his main focus is on helping the Black Cats in the quest to beat Sheffield United and gain promotion.
Regis Le Bris’ side have one game to fulfil their ambition of making it back to the top-flight after an eight-year absence. It’s a huge occasion and is the culmination of a season-long mission to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
For Bellingham, who has been a driving force of the team this season, it would be the pinnacle of his early career. The talented midfielder admitted he wanted to stay at the club this season to right the wrongs of a dismal campaign.
He's done that in style and is now just one step away from completing the job. The Championship play-off final at Wembley is the biggest game of his career, but Bellingham believes he is the best shape possible for the clash.
“For me personally, to get promoted this year would be everything to me,” he told the club. “The lads and myself have invested so much this year but just speaking for myself, I’ve given everything.
“After last season and the way that it ended, I wanted to make sure that I was still here and that I was ready to go. To right the wrongs and take Sunderland back to where they should be, where they should always be.
“I’ve worked tirelessly to be in the best shape and play the best football that I can, I think I have done that.
“It would mean everything to me, if we could all share a moment at Wembley it would be really special.”
Le Bris has a number of selection dilemmas ahead of the tactical battle against Chris Wilder's side, but Bellingham is a guaranteed starter in the middle of the park.
