Skipper Bruno Guimaraes has been modelling Newcastle United’s new black and white home shirt - and his wife certainly seems to approve.
New kit day. One of the best days. And it’s fair to say Newcastle United’s new black and white number has gone down well across the board.
The Magpies’ kit maker Adidas have released their latest take on the traditional striped affair, with some subtle changes to the design for the 2025/26 season ahead. Gone are the larger blocked black and white, replaced with a fading and blending and a slightly sleaker stripe. Light blue piping also adorns the kit, which seems to have won punters over after they saw the likes of Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton modelling it in the St James’ Park changing rooms.
Skipper Bruno Guimaraes was another to be snapped in the new kit, and he took to social media to share the images of himself wearing it. That wasn’t lost on the likes of his father - Dick Gomes - who was quick to reply to the Instagram post with a selection of fire emojis. And Bruno’s wife Ana Lidia Martins posted her support - not only for her husband, but the kit also.
She said: “I don’t know what’s more beautiful, you or the shirt.”
