Fabrizio Romano shares exciting update on Man Utd transfer plans, two additions planned to follow Matheus Cunha

Manchester United are expected to work fast in the upcoming transfer window, with a number of deals already being worked on.

This summer should see Ineos completely behind Ruben Amorim, backing the Portuguese coach with signings for his system.

Despite the horrific six months in charge, Amorim’s future is safe at Manchester United right now, with a general acceptance that this season in general is a blip, which should be easily improved upon next season.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set Amorim a target of finishing top six, which is more than achievable with the expected progression and changes to the 3-4-2-1 system being implemented.

The work Amorim is doing at United must improve, but Ratcliffe has previously admitted that the team available is 14th-place quality, making it no shock quality additions are being planned by Ineos.

One signing is almost already done, while others are being worked on.

Fabrizio Romano names the two positions which will follow Matheus Cunha

United have almost completed the signing of Matheus Cunha already, but the recruitment will be far from done after the Brazilian arrives.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has touched on this while speaking on his YouTube channel, revealing the two positions United are looking to add after Cunha.

“Financially, it would be a good deal for Manchester United [selling Garnacho] as they need to raise funds to reinvest in the transfer market and to add more players.

“They want to close the deal for Matheus Cunha, but they also want to add one more number 10 and one more striker. They will be busy in the market, but it would be difficult without sales, so there is a strong chance Alejandro Garnacho leaves.”

Cunha will occupy the left number 10 role for United, so a second 10 would likely be playing on the right, while the striker signing could be one of four options right now.

Manchester United’s attacking midfield options after Matheus Cunha

Up front, United are favourites to sign Liam Delap, and a deal there looks increasingly likely, but in terms of a second number 10, there is less certainty.

Cunha is a signing that Old Trafford will love, with his trickery, creativity, and goals all recipes for the Wolves ace to endear himself quickly to United supporters.

But in regards to the second number 10 signing, there is no option better this summer than Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, who is available for just £25m and would be an equally exciting signing for United. The Frenchman, Cherki was compared with Lionel Messi upon his visit to Old Trafford this season, and his addition would be very exciting.

Alternatively, if United are willing to be patient, Franco Mastantuono could be a deal worth paying for in advance, as he continues to impress in Argentina.

Sporting CP’s Francisco Trincao is another option, although that now looks unlikely.
