Report: Everton talks underway for 'extraordinary' player, David Moyes personally spoke to him

Everton are looking to make a splash in the summer transfer window with some big additions.

David Moyes has worked through what was a dreadful start for the club under Sean Dyche and secured a 13th-place finish in the Premier League.

All things considered, it has been quite the turnaround from Everton under the 62-year-old manager.

However, more is going to be needed over the summer as the Toffees look to continue their development under the ownership of the Friedkins.

Everton are prioritising a new striker signing this summer as they need to add a consistent stream of goals to their side.

And Moyes has now admitted the club have opened talks over one of their very top targets ahead of the summer.

David Moyes sheds light on Everton’s Liam Delap talks

On Friday, Kieran McKenna said Liam Delap is free to talk to other clubs ahead of his expected summer departure from Ipswich Town.

The youngster is desperate to find his next club before he jets off for the U21 Euros.

And speaking to the media, Moyes has admitted he is hoping Delap will be attracted by Everton’s offer of regular first-team minutes.

“We have had a chance to speak to him,” Moyes said on Friday.

“He’s spoken to three or four clubs and he’s given us the opportunity to pitch our case. We’re probably a little bit behind the black ball, but you never know what happens.”

Delap has a lot of interest from Manchester United and other big clubs from the Premier League, so Everton are up against it.

But the youngster will need the promise of playing regular football to continue his development as a Premier League forward.

And that is something Everton could offer him.

Everton should go all in on Liam Delap

Following their game earlier in the month, Everton fans were so impressed by Delap as he showed some real fight about him, despite not scoring.

The youngster is clearly a player on the radar of some of the top clubs across Europe after an impressive term in the Premier League.

However, Everton could really make him their statement signing ahead of their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton also hold an interest in Richarlison, but a move for Delap could make a lot more sense in terms of his footballing value.
