There have been a number of contract extensions sorted behind the scenes at St James’ Park this season.
From public confirmation of Fabian Schar and Martin Dubravka extending, to low-key reveals that the likes of Sean Longstaff and Jamaal Lascelles are actually under contract until 2026, the club seem to have their house in order.
We must wait to see if Alexander Isak will sign a new improved deal this summer, but one hero across our 2025/26 campaign looks set to be rewarded.
It looks like Dan Burn’s dream season at Newcastle United could be about to get even better.
[The Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14742707/Dan-Burn-agrees-new-Newcastle-contract-incredible-season-Carabao-Cup-final.html) report that the club have now ‘agreed terms’ with the giant centre-back over a contract extension, rewarding the 33-year-old for an outstanding season and keeping him at St James’ Park beyond the end of 2025/26.
Burn is currently out of contract in 12 months time, but it seems the club want to get in early and ensure the big man from Blyth sticks around for at least another two seasons.
The 6ft 7′ Geordie received his first call up to Thomas Tuchel’s England side two months ago and was included once again when the Three Lions squad for next month’s friendlies were announced on Friday.
Tino Livramento and Nick Pope didn’t make the cut, with Jacob Murphy also missing out, but Burn was selected alongside Anthony Gordon, summer target James Trafford and former Toon striker Ivan Toney.
