Ansu Fati endured yet another frustrating season with FC Barcelona, troubled with injuries and physical problems that kept him out of action for prolonged periods.
Even when fit, the La Masia graduate failed to make much of an impact and as such saw very limited game time under Hansi Flick.
As such, his departure from the club has been written in stone this summer after he turned down a chance to leave in January.
AS Monaco close to Ansu Fati deal
Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco have shown a significant interest in acquiring Ansu Fati’s services in recent days.
In fact, there appears to be a major development in the transfer story as Fabrizio Romano reports that the French giants are already close to signing the Barcelona youngster.

Indeed, negotiations are underway between Monaco and Barcelona over a deal for Ansu which would see him move to the Principality outfit on loan with an option to buy as well as a future sell-on clause for the Catalans.
An agreement with the Spanish international is almost done as he is keen on the move and has given his green light. Now talks are ongoing between the two clubs to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.
Once regarded as the future of the club, Ansu has been hard done by injury problems. A move away from the spotlight at Barcelona could do the young attacker a world of good and help him get his career back on track.
Meanwhile, with his departure, the No. 10 shirt at Barça will be up for grabs again and everything indicates that Lamine Yamal will inherit the iconic kit next season.
