The Celtic supporters are ticking down the days until Kieran Tierney is their player once again.
On Sunday, the Premier League will conclude its 2024/25 season, and Tierney is expected to play his final game for Arsenal.
In terms of the London club’s final day clash at already-relegated Southampton, nothing is on the line for Mikel Arteta’s side, who have already secured Champions League football after missing out on the Premier League title to Liverpool.
But the Celtic Park faithful will keep a close eye on whether Tierney gets game time in his final match, after being lauded and applauded for his final home match.
The 27-year-old has mainly been used as a substitute this term, and despite his Arsenal career seemingly finishing off in a damp manner, how Tierney is viewed and loved can’t be denied.

Celtic’s ‘gain’ from Arsenal’s ‘loss’ of letting Kieran Tierney go
Celtic’s recruitment deserves a pat on the back because they have gone from selling Tierney for a club-record £25 million to then bringing him back for nothing.
Stephen McGinn feels what is going to be Celtic’s ‘gain’ will be Arsenal’s ‘loss’ because he continues to give his all, no matter what situation you put him in, as he told Go Radio.
“He gives everything he has got,” said McGinn. “He leaves everything out there. The fans will always want more than that. They want that, plus results, but they can appreciate, in an individual case, what he has had to deal with, in terms of not being selected.

“When he was tipped as the next captain at Arsenal, at one point, he had to deal with a lot of disappointment, and he got put out on loan. Injuries. But he just kept at it.
“Even this season, along the road, he has been asked to come on for a minute, at a time, or half an hour or a different positions, and he has always given his best. Arsenal’s loss is Celtic’s gain, for sure.”
Tierney’s Arsenal and Celtic records
Tierney won the FA Cup early in his Arsenal career, but the London club have remained trophyless since then.
Arsenal did reach this season’s Champions League semi-final, but Paris Saint-Germain ultimately beat them fair and square to reach the final.
And now he will return home to help Celtic continue their non-stop trophy success.
