Newcastle United could be set to bid farewell to a number of players this weekend.
The end of the Premier League season always brings change and while it remains to be seen what happens with Newcastle United in the Champions League race, something of a rebuild could be afoot.
Indeed, Newcastle want to sign at least three players this summer. While it remains to be seen what kind of money they can spend, Newcastle sources believe they are in a good PSR position.
The players who will leave the club this summer will be equally as important as those who come in when it comes to shaping Eddie Howe’s squad. Sean Longstaff is expected to leave Newcastle, and there could well be others.
In fact, Howe has confirmed emotional talks with Callum Wilson.

Eddie Howe confirms emotional talks with Callum Wilson in update on future
Wilson hasn’t triggered a contract extension at Newcastle, having failed to make the required number of appearances to do so.
The striker is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Newcastle’s match against Everton could be his final game for the club.
While an excellent player for Newcastle over the years, Wilson has constantly suffered with injury. This season, the 33-year-old has only made three starts.

Asked about Wilson’s injury record, Howe told a pre-match press conference on Friday: “I’ve been in moments with Callum of high emotion where I’ve tried to support him emotionally.
“He’s been an incredible player for me over many, many years. I couldn’t speak highly enough of his character, of his attributes, of his ability.
“He’s had some real hurdles to overcome and none more so than this year. At the start of pre-season he had to be really strong, he’s had a couple of setbacks, again he’s had to be strong.
When asked if Sunday’s game could be the last time Newcastle fans see Wilson play for the club, Howe added: “I don’t know the answer to that. I think with the game being such a big game and all the focus being on the result and the team performance, I think naturally on behalf of the football club side, it’s not been about players’ futures. “
Callum Wilson breaks silence on Newcastle United contract latest
Wilson was recently a guest on the High Performance Podcast.
During the discussion, he admitted he was frustrated at not getting regular football under Howe but claimed he knew his “worth” and was excited about what lies ahead, whether that’s at Newcastle or not.
“I know my worth and I know my value and I’m still so hungry inside that even though I know Alex [Isak] is scoring goals, I’m still frustrated when the team sheet comes out and I’m not starting so I know I’m not ready to leave football yet,” he said.
Leeds want to sign Wilson this summer but he could still theoretically be offered a new contract at Newcastle, even if that seems unlikely at this stage.
If Everton really is his final game for the club, let’s hope he goes out on a high.
